“I know what I need to do, so why am I still stuck?”

Because understanding a pattern isn't always enough to change it.
Hypnotherapy informed by 25 years' NHS experience.

About Me

About Me

I’m a calm, grounded practitioner who works with the whole person, not just a single problem.

Our habits, stress responses and repeated behaviours rarely exist in isolation. They often make sense in the context of our experiences, our environment and the ways we've learned to cope. I'm interested in what's underneath, because that's often where lasting change begins.

My route into hypnotherapy wasn't theoretical. I turned to it myself while navigating chronic pain and habit change. Experiencing the work from the inside shaped how I practise today: practical, compassionate and focused on real-life change.

I live with chronic pain and I'm neurodivergent. Those experiences have given me a deeper understanding of how physical symptoms, mental load and automatic patterns can become intertwined. They have also reinforced something I see every day in practice: people are far more than a diagnosis or a label.

Being neurodivergent has shaped how I work. I know there isn't one right way to think, learn, process information or create change. I welcome both neurodivergent and neurotypical clients and work flexibly to meet people where they are. My practice is inclusive of people of all genders, identities and backgrounds.

Today, I help people understand and change the patterns that keep them stuck, especially when knowing why hasn't been enough.

Professional Background

Registered hypnotherapist with the Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) and the General Hypnotherapy Register (GHR).

Before becoming a hypnotherapist, I spent 25 years working in NHS radiotherapy, supporting people through the physical, practical and emotional challenges associated with cancer and its treatment.

My professional and personal experience has led to a particular interest in the areas below:
• Habit change
• Weight management
• Stress and anxiety
• Confidence and self-belief
• Fears and phobias
• Chronic health conditions and pain
• The impact of cancer, cancer treatment and life beyond

This list is not exhaustive, and I work with a wide range of issues and goals.

Introducing Hypnotherapy

1.

About Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy uses a natural state of mind we all experience, like daydreaming, becoming absorbed in a film, or scrolling through your phone without noticing time passing.

People have used this focused state for thousands of years to ease worries, break habits, and change patterns that aren’t working. Our understanding of how hypnotherapy works has developed significantly over time, and like many areas of healthcare, we now have a clearer understanding of the underlying processes involved.

2.

How Hypnotherapy Works

During hypnotherapy, you’re guided into a relaxed, focused state, similar to being absorbed in a book or drifting into a daydream. You remain aware and in control throughout.

In this state, the part of your mind responsible for automatic behaviours and habits becomes more receptive to change. This makes it easier to let go of unhelpful reactions and reinforce more useful responses.

Hypnotherapy supports changes in how you think, feel, and respond,  helping to release patterns that have been keeping you stuck.

3.

Understanding Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy is often shown on television in dramatic ways, but real practice is much calmer than that.
During a session, you remain aware and in control throughout. Nothing happens without your consent. I act as a guide, and you remain actively involved in the process.
It’s simply a focused way of working with the mind, helping you look at patterns, responses and habits in a steadier, more intentional way.

What Can Hypnotherapy Help With?

Common areas I work with...

Habits

"I know I need to stop doing this... so why do I keep doing it?"

Many habits and behaviours become automatic. Even when we understand the pattern, change isn't always straightforward.

Hypnotherapy helps you work with the deeper responses that keep the behaviour in place, making it easier to create new habits and more helpful ways of responding.

• Break unwanted habits or establish new ones
• Change automatic responses
• Strengthen focus and motivation
• Build steadier routines
• Reduce procrastination and avoidance

How We Work Together

Structured session options to address what’s keeping you stuck.

Initial consultation and first session

If you're unsure where to start, this 90-minute session gives us the time to explore what's happening, identify what may be keeping you stuck, and begin the work straight away.

This is an active hypnotherapy session, not simply an assessment.

Together we'll clarify your goals, begin working with the underlying patterns involved, and discuss the most appropriate approach for creating lasting change.

For many people, this session forms the first step of a structured programme of support, allowing us to build momentum and work more deeply with the issue over time.

Investment: £60

Where Hypnotherapy Takes Place

Hypnotherapy sessions can take place in different settings, depending on what feels most comfortable for you.

Whether you are looking for hypnotherapy in Southampton or online hypnotherapy in the UK, the aim is always to create a space where you can settle and focus.

Clinic room (Lowford, Southampton)
A quiet, professional space designed for privacy and focus.
Available on selected afternoons and occasional weekend mornings for in-person hypnotherapy sessions.

Home practice space (Netley Abbey, Southampton)
A dedicated room within my home , also used for sewing.

When set up for sessions, it is calm, simple, and arranged specifically for private hypnotherapy sessions.

Online
Online hypnotherapy sessions are available if you prefer to work from your own home or another comfortable space. This option offers flexibility while keeping the same session structure.

No matter the setting, the structure of the session stays the same.

The most important factor is that you feel comfortable and able to work in a way that suits you.
